Welcome to Hoori Handmade

Hoori Handmade is a bridge between Afghan women artisans and the world. Through art, traditional craftsmanship, and storytelling, we connect their creativity with people who value handmade work, creating meaningful opportunities while preserving Afghanistan's rich cultural heritage.

Decades of conflict have profoundly shaped the lives of people in Afghanistan, particularly women. Many have lost opportunities to study, work, and participate fully in public life. Through Hoori Handmade, women artisans continue one of Afghanistan's oldest artistic traditions, sharing their stories through their own craftsmanship while creating opportunities to support themselves and their families.

Every embroidered artwork, handbag, piece of jewellery, garment, and home décor item is handmade by an Afghan woman artisan. Each piece carries not only exceptional skill, but also the story, culture, and lived experience of the woman who created it.

At Hoori Handmade, we believe art and storytelling can build understanding, create opportunity, and inspire meaningful change. By connecting Afghan women artisans with audiences in Australia and beyond, we transform creativity into opportunity, preserving cultural heritage while contributing to more hopeful futures.

When you choose Hoori Handmade, you are doing more than purchasing a handmade piece. You are investing in an artist, preserving a tradition, and becoming part of a story that creates opportunity and contributes to lasting change.
